In the days leading up to the inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump, Joe’s NYC Bar – a social animation project building a global conversation about the world we live in – will open it’s doors for the first time in NYC.

Set in a New York City dive bar, it’s an interactive, immersive, improvised theatre happening, where the audience is invited to pitch in.

Originally conceived in Orlando, Florida, we coaxed the excellent team behind the show across the pond and helped them stage it at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2016. Unsurprisingly, Joe’s NYC Bar smashed it at the Fringe, with a month-long sell out run.

It notched up a string of four and five star reviews and attracted attention from international industry. In fact, throughout August The List Magazine’s online algorithm consistently ranked Joe’s NYC Bar in its top 20 ‘Best Reviewed Shows of the Festival’ listing.

It also scored a multitude of world class musical guests, including Michelle Shocked, Ali McGregor, Tomás Ford, Black Diamond Express, Baby Carla and DopeSickFly.

During it’s New York run, Friday 6 – Sunday 15 January 2017, Joe’s NYC Bar will be hosted in Ryan’a Daughter, 350 East 85th Street, New York City.

Imagine if Bukowsky wrote an episode of cheers. Broadway Baby

At Civil Disobedience, we’re super-chuffed to have helped bring this smash hit to Edinburgh, and we can’t wait to take on the Big Apple in January as international producers for Joe’s NYC Bar.
