Peter Michael Marino: Show Up

Peter Michael Marino: Show UP

Pete & Barry editPeter Michael Marino is a great pal of ours and one of our all-time favourite New Yorkers.

We made friends with him many moons ago, when he popped his Edinburgh Fringe cherry with the delightful Desperately Seeking the Exit; a solo show about the unravelling of Pete’s huge West End musical based on the film Desperately Seeking Susan. It was a big productions, with music by Debbie Harry, and it flopped quite spectacularly (true story).

With that level of self-deprecation, humour, and true life celebrity gossip on offer, the friendship was inevitable. We hit it off straightaway and have been partners in fun ever since, so we’re super-excited to finally get the chance to work with Pete professionally this Fringe season, as co-producers of his latest offering, Show Up.

A bit about Show Up

Pete Show UpPeter Michael Marino has been writing one-man shows for a very long time. He wanted to see what would happen if he showed up at a theatre and created a solo show on the spot. The result is Show Up; a semi-improvised, socially anxious comedy that’s based on the audience’s life experiences, featuring an arsenal of Post-it® Notes. Oh, and there’s a party.
